ELAINE MAY: Sketchy Comedy Writing Workshop

Jerry Schaefer is a professional sketch comedy writer. He has written for The Red Green Show, the teen comedy series That’s So Weird, and various shows on CBC TV and Radio. In addition to working on stage for The Second City, Jerry has over twenty years experience teaching improv comedy and sketch comedy writing in their workshop program.
In this 7-week workshop series, (6 weeks workshop ,7th week table read) you will learn new and traditional techniques for writing sketch comedy by watching examples in class and practicing the techniques in practical writing exercises. Between classes, students will write a short sketch to bring the following week for a table read. No previous experience is necessary.
