Synopsis
Facing mounting expenses and the unrelenting pressure of modern living, a down-on-his-luck cab driver is lured on to a mysterious new app that promises fast, easy money.
As his first night on the job unfolds, he is pulled ever deeper into the dark underbelly of society, embarking on a journey that will test his moral code and shake his understanding of what it means to have freewill. The question becomes not how much money he can make, but what he’ll be compelled to do to make it. If you’ve got nothing to lose, how far would you go?

About Michael Pierro
When he was sixteen Michael worked in a government mail room, operating an x-ray machine to scan incoming deliveries for explosives and bio-chemical weapons. Today he makes movies in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. As an editor he has cut everything from music videos for hit Canadian artists (Gordon Downey, Lowell) to popular TV comedies (Workin’ Moms, Baroness Von Sketch) and award winning indie features that have played at festivals around the world (Last Porno Show, Honey Bee, Room for Rent).
His feature film directorial debut, Self Driver, a fast paced pitch black comedic-thriller, premiered at Fantaspoa in 2024, where it took home a Best Film award. The film has been picked up for distribution in Canada by Mongrel Media, slated for release later in the year.
